After a successful corporate career with the likes of Fletcher Building and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, Scott founded ‘Resonance Strategy and Marketing Consulting’ at the beginning of 2019.
Resonance is an outsourced innovation consulting practice that helps clients achieve transformational growth. It serves both commercial and not-for-profit clients with integrated solutions across research, strategy, marketing, branding, leadership and culture. It has grown quickly, employing a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team of strategists and creatives. Resonance serves clients across New Zealand, the USA and Australia.
The effectiveness of his work is also backed by multiple awards both in New Zealand and internationally.

David Reid
Creative Director
David is a world class advertising creative and branding expert whose unique scientific approach delivers results.
He has worked with many of New Zealand’s top advertising agencies including: Saatchi & Saatchi, FCB New Zealand, Rapp Tribal, Aim Proximity and South Africa’s Jupiter Drawing Room. He has also developed campaigns for many famous New Zealand and global brands; Samsung, Vodafone, Peugeot, Gem, Olay, The New Zealand Electoral Commission, ANZ, The New Zealand Navy, Mercury Energy, Air New Zealand, Olay (Proctor & Gamble), Head and Shoulders (Proctor & Gamble) and many more.
He is passionate about beta testing creative concepts against their ability to generate outcomes.

Kieran Madden
Research & Strategy Partner
Kieran is deeply experienced in research, strategic leadership, public policy, organisational culture, and technology. He primarily assists our clients to understand their customers through qualitative and quantitative research, conducting interviews and bespoke desktop research to build unique insights into the changing dynamics within their sectors, then discerning the best strategic path forward.
Kieran is uniquely qualified to assist clients in their strategy transformations because his career has had a major pivot from the tech industry (working with EDS and Hewlett Packard amongst others) into research and public policy (doing research at the Parliament of Australia before eventually becoming Director of Research and Development at the public policy think tank Maxim institute).
After years honing research skills that translate technical complexity into compelling stories, his time as Research Director within Maxim saw him grow expertise in strategic leadership, warm culture creation, and persuasive communications.
He is passionate about the potential of great strategy and research to re-imagine and realise the visions of commercial, government, and for-purpose organisations.

Vicky Lam
Executive Assistant
Vicky is a dedicated professional with a passion for ensuring seamless and efficient processes within organizational frameworks.
Vicky embarked on her career journey in Auckland where she laid the foundation for her commitment to operational excellence. Following this, she ventured into the financial services sector in London, dedicating six years to honing her skills and gaining invaluable experience. Vicky has played a pivotal role in spearheading process improvements and subsequently allowing teams to focus on their best work.
Vicky served as a Les Mills Instructor in Auckland and in London where she enjoyed teaching group fitness classes while connecting with a diverse group of individuals and fitness leaders. This enabled her to develop not only her own passion for health and fitness, but also communication, leadership and motivational skills which contributed to a positive and supportive community environment.
Vicky currently volunteers as a Debt Coach for Christians Against Poverty – a charity that aims to end money chaos in Aotearoa – and is deeply passionate about serving and supporting individuals and families on their journey out of debt.

Rory Jones
Engineering and R&D Partner
Rory is an expert engineer and a successful business leader: highly experienced in bringing innovative concepts to life.
He brings extensive experience in both product design and ‘design for manufacture’, backed by his proven belief that "the magic combination of both aesthetically pleasing beautiful products and designing for maximum manufacturing efficiency is not only possible, but actually brings the best commercial returns".
Because of his unique skill-set, Rory is equally comfortable overseeing business-level product design strategy across a portfolio, ‘getting his hands dirty’ through observational user research (developing deep understanding of the user’s seen and unseen needs), and creating left-field solutions that solve problems and seize opportunities. Because of his experience at the head of two businesses, Rory also brings deep commercial knowledge to all his projects.
He particularly assists any business that makes physical objects, designs user interfaces, or wants to enhance their service or user experience.
His qualifications include:
- A Masters of Engineering (Mechanical), University of Auckland.
- A Masters in Engineering Management, Canterbury University.
Highlights of his career include:
- Establishing his own successful global export business, La Plastecnica, from New Zealand.
- Co-founding Symulus, a surgical simulator manufacturer, alongside three high-profile New Zealand surgeons and a bio-physicist.
- A stint as a Research Fellow at Queen’s University Belfast in the internationally-recognised Polymer Processing Research Centre.
- Working for ITR srl in Italy as a Research and Development Engineer.
- Working as Production Engineer at RX Plastics in New Zealand.
Bobbie Pilkington
Co-Founder
Bobbie has a keen interest in all things financial and a strong entrepreneurial eye. Her adeptness for numbers, coupled with good business sense, help her to bring commercial ideas to life.
Bobbie grew up in a highly enterprising family, absorbing entrepreneurship ideas from a young age. She brings a sharp intellect and was Dux of her school before studying at Auckland University where she majored in Accounting and Economics. She graduated as the top scholar in her Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours) majoring in Economics.
Bobbie then worked as an auditor for EY (previously Ernst & Young), gaining valuable insights into many different sectors.
She is co-founder and has assisted Scott with advice since the formation of Resonance and is also heavily involved in the accounting and finance functions.
